چکیده

A novel simple kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) has been developed and validated. The proposed method is based on the reduction of Cuneocuproine reagent to Cu-neocuproine with the analyte, in a Britton-Robinson buffer solution (pH = 3.0). The non-steady state absorbance of the formed Cu-neocuproine complex is measured at 458 nm. The initial rate and fixed time (at 1 min) methods were utilized for constructing the calibration graphs. The calibration curves for both methods were linear in concentration range from 6.0  10 to 8.0  10 mol L with the limit of detection 1.7  10 mol L. The slope of the initial method calibration curve (1.0181) confirmed the first order reaction. Both proposed methods were successfully applied for the determination of NAC in its commercial pharmaceutical formulations. (doi: 10.5562/cca2161)

Application of Differential Kinetic Method Using ANN with a New Synthetic Reagent for Simultaneous Spectrophotometric Determination of Mercury and Palladium

A new selective reagent was used for simultaneous determination of mercury and palladium in real samples with their different kinetic spectrophotometric properties. The method is based on the difference in the rate of the oxidation reaction of the recently synthesized reagent, nitro benzoyl diphenylmethylen phosphorane (N-BDMP), with Hg2+ and Pd2+. The kinetic profiles were monitored and record...

Solvent extraction, spectrophotometric determination of copper (II) from environmental samples using o-methylphenyl thiourea as a novel reagent

A simple and rapid method has been developed for solvent extraction and spectrophotometric determination of copper (II) using o-methylphenyl thiourea (OMPT) as a sensitive reagent. The basis of proposed method is formation of copper (II)-OMPT complex. Copper (II) was extracted with 0.020 mol L-1 OMPT in chloroform from aqueous solution in 0.075 mol L-1 potassium iodate. The absorbance of comple...

Kinetic-Spectrophotometric Determination of Track Amounts of Nitrite Ion Based on Its Reduction Reaction with Thionine in Acidic Media

A simple, sensitive and rapid method for determination of trace amounts of nitrite ion in real samples is reported. The reaction is initiated by adding known volumes of a nitrite ion solution of identified concentration to acidic solutions of thionine which causes decolorizaiton of reagent with time. The absorbance changes is then monitored spectrophotometrically at l...

Kinetic spectrophotometric determination of N-acetyl-L-cysteine based on a coupled redox-complexation reaction.

A novel simple kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) has been developed and validated. The proposed method is based on a coupled redox-complexation reaction, the first step of which is the reduction of Fe(3+) by NAC; the second one includes the complexation of Fe(2+), resulting from the preceding redox reaction, with 2,4,6-trypyridyl-s-triazine (TP...

Extraction of Traces of Copper as Tetra-Butylammonium Tetrathiocyanato Copper (II) and Its Spectrophotometric Determination Using Eriochrome Black T

An extraction-spectrophotometric method for the determination of traces of copper (II) is described. The method is based on the quantitative extraction of copper as tetrabutylammonium tetrathiocyanato copper (II) into methyl isobutyl ketone, followed by spectrophotometric determination, using eriochrome black T as a metallochromic indicator. The red-violet mixed complex of copper absorbs at...
